These are private walks: each time slot is reserved for one group only, so you will never be joined by strangers.
Please note: the guided explanation is given in English or Dutch only (not in French).
Cancellation & Refund Policy / Safety information (please read)
Can I cancel my booking?
Yes. If you need to cancel your booking, please contact @Fossilesdecapblancnez as soon as possible. Refunds depend on how far in advance you cancel.
What happens if I cancel?
- More than 7 days before the walk: 100% refund.
- Between 7 days and 48 hours before the walk: 50% refund.
- Less than 48 hours before the walk: no refund.
- No-show: no refund if the walk takes place as planned.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The FossilsWalk takes place outdoors and may continue in normal rain or less favourable weather. However, @Fossilesdecapblancnez reserves the right to cancel or postpone the walk if weather, sea conditions, tides, rockfalls or other circumstances make the activity unsafe.
What happens if @Fossilesdecapblancnez cancels the walk?
If the walk has to be cancelled by @Fossilesdecapblancnez, participants will receive the choice of:
- a 100% refund, or
- transferring their booking to another available date.
What if the walk cannot continue because of tides or safety?
The safety of participants always comes first. If the walk cannot safely take place because of tides, weather, rockfalls or other unforeseen circumstances, @Fossilesdecapblancnez may cancel or shorten the activity. In the event of a cancellation before the walk starts, participants will receive a full refund or the option to transfer their booking.
Can I change my booking to another date?
Where availability allows, @Fossilesdecapblancnez will try to accommodate requests to move a booking to another available date. Please contact us as early as possible.
What happens if I arrive late?
The FossilsWalk follows the advertised schedule and may depend on the tide. Unfortunately, arriving late does not automatically entitle you to a refund.
Am I guaranteed to find fossils?
No, finding fossils can never be guaranteed - it depends on the day, the tides and simple luck. This walk is mainly about learning: how to search, what type of fossils can be found where, and what to look out for during future searches on your own. @Fossilesdecapblancnez will walk part of the route with you and show you what to pay attention to.
Important safety information
Fossil hunting takes place in a natural coastal environment. Participants should follow the instructions of @Fossilesdecapblancnez at all times and remain aware of tides, cliffs, falling rocks and changing weather conditions. Safety always comes first.
Organizer liability
@Fossilesdecapblancnez will follow the applicable safety regulations when carrying out these walks. However, @Fossilesdecapblancnez is not liable for any accidents or injuries that occur beyond their reasonable control, including those caused by reckless behaviour of participants.
